Midtown YMCA and Temple Baptist Church Partner for Family Easter Celebration

Wilmington, NC, March 14, 2018:

The Midtown YMCA and Temple Baptist Church of Wilmington will jointly host a Family Easter Celebration on Saturday, March 31, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Midtown YMCA @ Temple Baptist Activity Center, located at 709 George Anderson Drive in Wilmington. The event will include a pancake breakfast, children’s activities including a bounce house, an obstacle course, and an Easter egg hunt, along with the telling of the Easter story. There is no admission charge.

According to Temple Baptist’s pastor, Mark Gaskins, this is a joint effort between the church and the Midtown YMCA as an expression of the partnership that the two organizations launched in early 2017. The Midtown YMCA is located in Temple Baptist Church’s Christian Activity Center. While the Midtown Y manages and oversees the day to day operation of the facilities, Temple Baptist continues to hold special and ongoing ministry events at the location. “This is a ‘win-win’ partnership for the YMCA and the church,” Gaskins says, “making full use of the facility for appropriate and complementary causes.”

The Temple congregation and the Midtown YMCA invite parents and guardians to bring their children for this Easter celebration. Admission is free, but the Midtown Y requests that families RSVP by phone at 910-769-6800 or by email to lisa.cunningham@ymcasenc.org.
